Party Hostels in Bled

Bled punches well above its weight for such a small town. The lake and castle draw the crowds, but once the day-trippers head home, a tight-knit backpacker scene takes over the handful of bars around Cesta Svobode and the old town centre. Nights here are relaxed rather than raucous — think cold Laško beers on a terrace with a view, followed by dancing in a basement bar until the small hours. Hostel Bledec and Traveller's Haven are the social hubs, both running their own events and connecting guests with the nightly pub crawl. The scene is small, friendly, and genuinely easy to get into. Groups form fast in Bled, partly because everyone's staying within a five-minute walk of each other.

Pub Crawls in Bled

Organised nights out with a local guide

Pub Crawl Bled

Nightly

A guided night out hitting the best bars and the club in Bled, with drinking games and group challenges thrown in along the way. The crawl visits several local venues and is designed to get solo travellers and small groups mixing with each other. It's the main social event in town for backpackers on any given night.

Meeting point: Bled Town Centre

Which Area Should You Stay In?

How Bled's nightlife zones break down

Bled Town Centre

The compact core around Cesta Svobode and the main square is where most backpackers spend their evenings. Bars, restaurants, and the bus stop are all within a short walk of the lake shore, and it's where the pub crawl kicks off each night.

Best for: Bars, pub crawls, and easy access to everything

Bled Castle Hill Area

The streets climbing toward Bled Castle are quieter but home to a few local spots favoured by residents rather than tourists. It's a short, steep walk from the lake but rewards with atmospheric surroundings and less crowded terraces.

Best for: Local bars and a quieter night out

Mlino

The small settlement of Mlino sits at the south-western edge of the lake, about a 15-minute walk from the town centre along the shore path. It's a peaceful residential area with a couple of lakeside bars that are worth the stroll on a warm evening.

Best for: Lakeside drinks away from the crowds

Bars and Clubs in Bled

Where the hostel pub crawls end up, and where to go on your own

Pub Bled

The closest thing Bled has to a proper backpacker bar, Pub Bled draws a mix of locals and travellers most evenings. Drinks are reasonably priced by Slovenian standards, and the atmosphere picks up significantly after 10pm at weekends.

Casino Park Hotel Bar

The bar inside the Park Hotel sits right on the lake with one of the best views in town. It's a bit more polished than the average backpacker stop, but the terrace is hard to beat for a sundowner before heading somewhere louder.

Art Café

A relaxed spot in the town centre that transitions from coffee shop to bar as the evening goes on. Live music nights happen occasionally, and the crowd tends to be a good mix of younger travellers and locals.

Irish Pub Bled

A reliable option when you want something familiar. Sports on screens, a solid beer selection, and a lively crowd on match nights. It fills up quickly when the pub crawl swings through.

Sova Bar

Sova is a small local bar that stays open later than most in Bled. The music leans toward pop and Balkan hits, and it's a favourite last stop for backpackers after the pub crawl officially ends.

Ostarija Peglez'n

More of a traditional Slovenian inn than a party venue, but the terrace gets lively on summer evenings. A solid place to start the night with a carafe of local wine before moving on.

Practical Info

🚌
Getting to Bled
Buses from Ljubljana run roughly every hour and take about 1 hour 20 minutes, costing around €6–7 one way. The bus drops you in Bled town centre, a short walk from the lake and most hostels. Trains go to Lesce-Bled station, 4km from the lake, from which a local bus or taxi covers the last stretch.
🚶
Getting around Bled
Bled is small enough to cover entirely on foot. The walk around the full lake is 6km and takes about 90 minutes at a relaxed pace. Most hostels, bars, and the pub crawl meeting point are within a 10-minute walk of each other. Bikes are available to hire from several spots near the lake for around €5–8 per hour.
💶
Money and costs
Slovenia uses the euro. Beers in bars cost €4–6, and a hostel dorm bed runs €20–25 per night in summer. There are ATMs in the town centre near the bus stop and on Cesta Svobode. Card payments are accepted in most bars and restaurants.
📅
Best time to visit
Summer (June to August) is peak season: the lake is warmest, the hostel scene is at its most active, and the pub crawl draws bigger crowds. Spring and early autumn are quieter and cheaper, with prices dropping noticeably after September. Winter is very quiet, with some hostels closed entirely from November to March.
🏔️
Day trips from Bled
Lake Bohinj is 26km away and far less crowded than Bled, reachable by bus in about 45 minutes. Ljubljana is an easy day trip at 55km, served by regular buses from the town centre. Triglav National Park begins practically on Bled's doorstep, with several trailheads within cycling or driving distance.
📶
SIM cards and Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available in all hostels and most bars in Bled. For a local SIM, pick one up at Ljubljana bus station or airport before you arrive. Telekom Slovenije and A1 both offer prepaid data SIMs for around €10–15, covering the whole country including the national park areas.
